1. Introduction

LLM Cross-Checker ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that verifies AI-generated responses across multiple AI models for accuracy and bias detection. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use and store it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding your data.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Anonymous Install ID

When you install the extension we automatically generate a random anonymous identifier (for example: llmc_1234567890_abc123). This ID contains no personal information whatsoever. It is used solely to:

• Track your monthly usage count for the free tier limit (10 checks/month)
• Link any stored BYOK API keys to your installation
• Display your usage statistics in the extension popup

2.2 Usage Statistics

We record the number of cross-checks you perform each month and your lifetime total. This is used to enforce free tier limits and to display your usage count in the popup. Monthly counts are automatically reset at the start of each calendar month.

2.3 Email Address (paid subscribers only)

If you subscribe to a paid plan, your email address is collected and stored by ExtensionPay and Stripe for subscription and payment processing. We do not store your email address on our own servers.

2.4 API Keys — BYOK Users Only

If you choose to use the Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) feature, you may voluntarily provide your own API keys for one or more of the supported AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Cohere, Groq, DeepSeek). These keys are:

• Stored securely in our database (MongoDB Atlas) with access controls
• Used exclusively to make AI verification API calls on your behalf
• Never shared with any party other than the respective API provider when making a call
• Removable at any time directly from the extension popup without contacting us

2.5 AI Response Text (temporary, never stored)

When you activate Cross-Check, the text of the AI response you are verifying is temporarily transmitted to our server and forwarded to third-party AI providers for verification. This text is never written to any database or log and is discarded from memory immediately after verification completes.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Anonymous Install ID — enforcing free tier monthly limits; associating BYOK keys with your installation
• Usage statistics — displaying your usage in the popup; enforcing plan limits
• Email (via ExtensionPay / Stripe) — subscription billing and account management only
• BYOK API keys — routing your verification requests through your own API provider accounts
• AI response text — performing the cross-check verification; immediately discarded after use

We do not use any collected data for advertising, user profiling, or selling to third parties.

4. Data Storage

• Anonymous install IDs and usage statistics are stored in MongoDB Atlas, a cloud-hosted database service located in the United States
• BYOK API keys are stored in MongoDB Atlas with restricted access controls
• AI response text is never written to disk or any database — it is processed in server memory and immediately discarded
• Payment and subscription data is stored by ExtensionPay and Stripe on their own secured infrastructure, governed by their respective privacy policies

5. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We share data with the following services only as strictly necessary to provide the extension's functionality:

Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We do not sell your data to any party under any circumstances.

6. Data We Do Not Collect

We explicitly do not collect:

• Your name, physical address, or phone number
• Your browsing history or URLs of pages you visit
• Your original prompts or questions submitted to AI tools
• Location or GPS data
• Device identifiers or hardware information
• Any data from websites other than ChatGPT, Claude.ai, and Gemini
• Cookies or tracking pixels

7. Data Retention

• Usage statistics — retained while your installation is active; monthly check counts are automatically reset each calendar month
• AI response text — never retained; discarded immediately after verification completes
• BYOK API keys — retained until you remove them via the popup or submit a deletion request to us
• Payment data — managed and retained by ExtensionPay and Stripe according to their own retention policies

8. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access — request a copy of all data associated with your anonymous install ID
• Deletion — request permanent deletion of all data associated with your installation at any time
• Remove BYOK keys — delete your stored API keys instantly from the extension popup without needing to contact us
• Opt out — uninstall the extension at any time; no data collection occurs after uninstall

9. Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at or intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has provided data to us, please contact us immediately at support@webcoreagency.ca and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the extension after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the extension or the Chrome Web Store listing.
